Qualification requirements by grade

How to apply

Read the requirement

Applications that do not meet the published qualification and experience are screened out at the first stage. There is no discretion at that step.

Apply online

Create an applicant account, complete the form and upload your credentials, NYSC discharge certificate where required, and a valid means of identification.

Receive your acknowledgement

An acknowledgement reference is issued immediately. Quote it in any correspondence. No application is progressed without one.

Sit the written examination

Invitations are issued by SMS and email at least ten days before the date. The paper is marked anonymously against a published scheme.

Attend the panel interview

Three members, one from outside the recruiting directorate, scoring against published criteria. Bring the originals of every certificate uploaded.

Verification and offer

Certificates are verified with the awarding institution and references taken. Successful candidates are notified in writing and the merit list is published.

Documents to have ready

  • Birth certificate or declaration of age.
  • Certificate of State of origin or residence.
  • SSCE / WASSCE / NECO result.
  • ND, NCE, HND or degree certificate, and the transcript.
  • NYSC discharge, exemption or exclusion certificate, where applicable.
  • Professional membership certificate and evidence of current standing, where required for the grade.
  • Valid means of identification — NIN slip, passport or driver’s licence.
  • Two recent passport photographs.
  • Curriculum vitae with two referees, one of whom must be a current or most recent employer.

No fees, no agents, no exceptions

Applying, sitting the test and attending an interview are free. The Service has no recruitment agent and authorises no third party to collect anything from an applicant.
